State Sen. Annette Cleveland, D-Vancouver, announced Wednesday that she has opened a new district office in Vancouver.

The new office is in Suite 330-G of the Harley Hall Building at 1000 N.E. Seventh Ave. It can be reached by phone at 360-314-2981.

“I work hard to represent our community’s needs and interests as effectively as possible, in an effort to build a better future for us all,” Cleveland said in a media release. “Having been entrusted to represent the 49th Legislative District, I consider it my responsibility as state senator to make sure my office is easily accessible, and this ensures that.”

Local churches to host refugee vigils tonight

Tonight, two churches in Clark County will hold vigils to protest inhumane conditions faced by asylum-seekers and refugees in the United States. Vigils are happening across the country as part of Lights for Liberty.

Camas Friends Church will hold a vigil at 8:30 p.m. in its parking lot at 1004 N.E. Fourth Ave., in Camas. The vigil at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church also begins at 8:30 p.m. at 426 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., in Vancouver.
